FeaturedHow a Forced Name Change Became the Best Thing That Happened to a Colorado Springs Epoxy Company

Stand Out. Be Remembered.
I'm based in Colorado Springs and trained in visual communication. Here in the Springs, I rebuilt the Sealwise Epoxy identity after a cease and desist letter forced their name change, and I took ALJLTY, a faith-based apparel brand, from a name and a Bible verse to a logo, 5 products and an online store in 12 weeks. A brand from me is a system: logo, colors, fonts, guidelines, and how your business sounds. You work with the person who designs it, and the prices are on this page.
Sound familiar?
Colorado Springs' strong military presence shapes how outsiders see the city. If your business brand relies on that association without adding its own personality, you blend into a sea of defense contractors and military-adjacent services instead of standing on your own.
The Olympic and Paralympic Training Center, Garden of the Gods tourism brands, and hundreds of outdoor recreation companies all have polished visual identities. When a Springs resident encounters your business, the comparison happens whether you intend it or not. A DIY logo or inconsistent presence reads as "not serious" in a city where even a climbing gym has a brand system.
The growth around Weidner Field and the downtown district is attracting a younger, design-conscious demographic. Businesses with outdated branding feel like they belong to the old downtown, not the new one that's taking shape.
Before you hire anyone
Before you pay anyone for branding, me included, look for these warning signs.
A logo without a brand strategy is decoration. If they're asking about colors before they ask about your customers, your competitors, and your market positioning, they're working backwards.
"We chose blue because it feels calming" is not strategy. Every design choice should tie back to who your customers are and what makes you different. Pretty doesn't pay the bills.
A brand identity isn't a deliverable, it's a system. If they drop a logo file in your inbox with no brand guidelines, no usage rules, and no asset library, you'll end up with an inconsistent mess within six months.
Ask: "Who is the target audience for this identity?" If the answer is vague ("small businesses" or "everyone"), the brand won't connect with anyone specific. A brand that speaks to everyone speaks to no one.
If your "custom" logo shows up on a template marketplace with someone else's name on it, that's not branding. Ask to see original sketches or concept development. If they don't have a creative process, they don't have original work.
If they haven't researched what your competitors look like, they can't make you stand out. You'll end up blending in with every other business in your space, which is the opposite of what branding should do.
This sounds generous until you realize it means they have no creative direction. A good brand designer presents strong concepts with clear reasoning. Endless revisions usually mean they're guessing until you stop asking for changes.
A logo and color palette aren't a brand. Your brand is how you sound, how you communicate, what you stand for. If they're not talking about voice, messaging, and positioning, they're giving you half the picture. That's why voice and messaging are part of my branding work.
What I've learned working with small businesses in Colorado Springs
Colorado Springs serves visitors and locals at the same time. The Pikes Peak region had 25.5 million visitors in 2024 (Visit COS), and the Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC counts five military installations in the region plus the National Guard. Many of the people who see your sign, truck or logo here have never heard of you, so the brand has to introduce you on its own. Sealwise Epoxy showed me what a name is worth. For over 15 years they worked as Sealwize, mostly on referrals, and when a cease and desist letter forced the change to Sealwise, the old name's online presence pointed at a brand that no longer existed. So I built an identity that worked whether the name ended in Z or S: the diamond icon, the colors and the typography carry the brand, not the spelling. ALJLTY taught me the local side of design. The founders wanted a shirt people would pick up because it looks good, before reading a word, so the cross lives inside the T of the wordmark. I pushed for mustard gold because it stands out on a rack without screaming and photographs well in Colorado's natural light, and Colorado Springs became the backdrop for the brand photography, Garden of the Gods included.

Elizabeth and Brenton had a Bible verse, a six-letter acronym, and zero brand assets. Twelve weeks later they had a logo with a secret, 5 products on shelves, and a store that didn't look like a side project.

Why work with me
I rebuilt the Sealwise Epoxy identity after a cease and desist letter forced their name change: a logo system with a full lockup, a simplified icon and wordmark variations, plus colors, typography and applications from business cards to vehicle wraps. I built ALJLTY Apparel from a Bible verse to a 5-product line in 12 weeks. Both are Colorado Springs businesses.
Sealwise brought in $26,240 in new revenue within 60 days of the local SEO work. The rebrand was one part of a bundle with the website, SEO, social media and commercial materials, so I don't credit that number to the logo. What the brand did is written in the case study: it made them look as professional as their work actually is.
No account managers. Give me 30 days. Before you pay the deposit, I put in writing exactly what I'll ship in those 30 days: brand discovery, 5 logo concepts, your color palette and typography, the revision rounds in your scope, final files in every format, and your brand guidelines. If I don't ship every item on that list, you get your deposit back. You work directly with me.

I'm trained as a designer.
I studied Visual Communication at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Madrid, then launched KREAKTIVE, a creative studio in Bilbao, Spain. I've worked in digital marketing for 17 years, 15 of them running my own agency, and Google featured my agency, KREAKTIVE, in a Google ActΓvate story (screenshot, Oct 2026). I moved to Colorado Springs in 2023, and the brand work I did here for Sealwise Epoxy and ALJLTY is on this page, with case studies you can read.

Common questions
It depends on the package. Brand Identity ($2,700) includes 5 logo concepts, 3 revision rounds, a color palette, 2 fonts, a 10-12 page brand guidelines PDF, a business card design, social media profile templates, a favicon, and every file in AI, EPS, PNG, SVG and PDF. Brand Identity Pro ($7,700) adds a brand discovery workshop, a visual competitor analysis, a complete logo system, custom graphic elements, photography direction, a full stationery suite, a presentation template and 25-35 pages of guidelines.
$2,700 for Brand Identity and $7,700 for Brand Identity Pro. Brand Identity is for a new business or a first real brand. Brand Identity Pro is for an established business that has outgrown its current look. Both can be split into 3 payments with no interest. If you only need a logo, tell me on the call and I'll quote it.
Brand Identity takes 1-2 weeks. Brand Identity Pro takes 4-5 weeks. Inside that range, the pace is up to your feedback. I present concepts, you pick a direction, and I refine it. If I'm waiting on you for content or an approval, the 30-Day Proof Period clock pauses too.
A logo is one mark. A brand identity is the complete system: colors, typography, patterns, voice, photography direction, social media templates, and a guidelines document that tells any designer how to use it all. Businesses that stop at a logo end up with mismatched fonts, wrong colors, and inconsistent materials.
Yes. Along with the visual identity, I also work on how your brand sounds: voice and messaging. On Brand Identity Pro, the brand positioning brief puts who you are, who you serve and how you're different into words before any design starts.
Yes. You own every file, source files included, plus your brand guidelines and full usage rights, with no licensing fees. I hand everything over when the project is done, so any designer or printer can work with it later.
You work directly with me, start to finish. No handoffs to junior designers, no layers of project managers. My prices are published, and before you pay the deposit I put in writing exactly what I'll ship in the first 30 days.
Yes, with training on your files. Brand Identity includes a 15-30 minute walkthrough on how to use your files. Brand Identity Pro includes a 45-60 minute training session on the brand system and a guidelines walkthrough. A new website is a separate project, and so is design work after delivery.
You make every key decision. Brand Identity starts with a kickoff questionnaire of 15-20 questions about your business, your customers and your preferences. Brand Identity Pro starts with a 90-minute discovery workshop. After that, you choose a direction from the concepts and give feedback in each revision round.
Both packages include 3 revision rounds. If you're still not there, we keep going within the direction we agreed. Changing direction entirely is a new quote, and I'll tell you before I start. Most clients land it in 3 or 4 rounds.
You get a 1-year evolution credit. If within 12 months of delivery you pivot, add a service line or need to update your brand for a real business reason, you get $500 toward the update work. You also keep lifetime access to your files.
Yes. I work with businesses across the US from Colorado Springs, and before I moved here in 2023 I ran KREAKTIVE in Spain for over a decade.
Start with one question: is this your first real brand, or have you outgrown the one you have? On a 30-minute call I look at what you use today and tell you which package fits. Sometimes the honest answer is that you don't need either yet.
Yes. Not every project needs to start from scratch. Tell me what you already have and what isn't working, and I'll tell you which package fits, or whether you need one at all.
Yes, as separate services. I offer website design, SEO and AI search optimization so your new brand gets found online. I don't run paid ads, but I can refer you to someone who does.
Answers about your business, your customers and your preferences. For Brand Identity, they come from a kickoff questionnaire of 15-20 questions. For Brand Identity Pro, they come from a 90-minute discovery workshop on who you serve and what makes you different.
No monthly retainer. Branding is a one-time project. After delivery you keep lifetime access to your files and the $500 evolution credit for 12 months, and any new design work is quoted on its own.
A logo is not a brand. Learn how to build a complete brand identity that earns trust, commands higher prices, and turns strangers into customers.
